School Pet Discount Program

As part of our ongoing efforts to help our communities, Pet Food Express offers a special discount to support classroom pets that are used to teach students about animals and responsible pet ownership. Using the teacher as a monitor and the children as a forum, Pet Food Express will also assist each classroom in deciding which type of pet(s) to adopt and care for. A Pet Food Express employee will be available to talk with students about responsible pet ownership, proper care and handling of their classroom pets.

The School Pet Program is designed for small mammals, birds, fish, and reptiles. It does not apply to dogs, cats, or livestock. Other animals will be considered on a case by case basis.

Once your pet selection has been made, Pet Food Express offers a 10% discount on food and 20% on supplies needed to properly care for the classroom pet. Using this discount card, teachers may purchase supplies for their classroom pets at any of our conveniently located Bay Area stores. They may not be used for a teacher’s personal at home pets.
