SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Homeless pets deserve a special holiday meal, too, and today they got one with a special delivery of "Spot's Stew."

Ellen Degeneres has teamed up with a 15-year-old Oregon girl, who started the website FreeKibble.com for the first ever "Koast to Koast Kibble Drop." They are distributing 400,000 holiday meals to animal shelters across the United States.

Monday morning, a semi truck pulled up to Pet Food Express on Market Street in San Francisco, and five Bay Area shelters were there to accept the donations.

Degeneres co-owns the Halo pet food company. Halo is donating 20 tons of Spot's Stew.
