BAY CITY NEWS – Pet Food Express stores in Contra Costa County will be hosting a dog washing fundraiser today to help low-income pet owners care for their animals, organizers said.
Money raised at stores starting at 9:30 a.m. will go toward the AniMeals program at the Contra Costa Human Society. All of the proceeds from the self-service pet washes at participating stores will go to AniMeals, fundraisers said.
AniMeals provides pet food and supplies for Contra Costa County residents who go to area food banks and may not be able to afford proper care for their pets, organizers said.
The pet stores can be found in Antioch, Pleasant Hill, Clayton, Concord, Danville, Lafayette, Pinole and Walnut Creek.
Last year the AniMeals fundraiser raised over $6,000 for needy owners and their pets, organizers said.
