Product Safety Assurance ProgramAbout our Product Safety Assurance Program
In our growing global economy, it is becoming more and more difficult to be assured of safe manufacturing practices. Unfortunately, over the decades we have been in business, we have seen and responded to a growing number of serious pet product safety crises. We have reacted by increasing our vigilance about the products we choose to sell.
We wish that pet product regulation was more reliable. But until things change, we feel it’s our responsibility as business owners and animal advocates to do the best we can to ensure that the products we sell are as safe as possible.
Our Product Safety Assurance Program was designed to help to strengthen our already strict position in the pet retail industry. We know we won’t accept anything less than the safest quality goods from our suppliers for our pets…and yours and we want you to know it.
Our company is being especially proactive about issues in a way that is literally unheard of in the pet retail industry: We are studying ingredients and voluntarily banning the ones that we feel are questionable in quality and safety; we're testing for lead in all of our dog & cat toys and food bowls before they hit the shelves, in spite of manufacturer standards and we’re continuing to be the pet retail company leaders in providing the most diligent recall information available.
Why are we doing this?
Because we feel it’s the right thing to do. We simply wouldn’t sell it to you if we wouldn’t give it to our own pets.
