Cindy specializes in early puppy development & learning and changing behavior using positive, force-free training methods. She earned a certificate in training and counseling from the San Francisco Academy for Dog Trainers, and is a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers. Cindy and her dog, Chloe, are members of the National Association of Canine Scent Work, and together they have been awarded titles in NoseWork 1 (NW1) and NoseWork 2 (NW2) in the sport of K9 NoseWork®.
Cindy and her husband own and operate Diva Dogs, and together have volunteered their time providing grooming make-overs for shelter dogs awaiting adoption. She actively pursues continuing education by attending animal behavior conferences, seminars, and workshops. In addition to group classes, Cindy offers private instruction.

Sundays: 3:00-4:00 PM Puppy Charm School (puppies 10 to 18 weeks old)
4:30-5:30 PM Small Dog Charm School (small dogs under 20-lbs)
Thursdays: 6:00-7:30pm Seminars/Workshops (people only)

Class Descriptions and Pricing
Cost: $180 for 6 consecutive weeks ($175 for rescued dogs).
Class curriculum is a six week Open Enrollment course. You can register at anytime so long as your dog or puppy meets the class Prerequisites.
Puppy Charm School – for young puppies 10 weeks to 4.5 months
- Ages: 8 weeks to 18 weeks old
- Weight: under 25-lbs
Prerequisite: at least one set, ideally two sets, of puppy vaccinations. Puppy must be between 10-18 weeks old on the class start date.
Class meets weekly for 6 consecutive weeks. Please bring puppy to the first class. Class size is limited to 5 dogs for personal attention and instruction.
This six-week course is an introduction to social etiquette and basic manners for young puppies. Socialization and learning how to interact politely with other puppies and strangers is easiest to learn before your puppy reaches 18-weeks of age. When your puppy visits new places and plays with other puppy dogs, children and adults as a young puppy, it means he/she will look forward to those same interactions throughout his/her adulthood. All in good fun, we will cover:
Good Housekeeping: House training and crate training, prevent attention barking, whining and separation anxiety
- Handling: Enjoy being held and examined for grooming
- Socialization: including learning good bite inhibition during playtime
- Prevent problem behaviors: chewing, destructive behaviors and resource guarding
- Basic manners: Sit to greet guests, go lay down, wait at doors, come when called, stay until released, leave things alone when requested
Small Doggy Charm School – for small breed dogs under 20-lbs
- Ages: over 6-months old
- Weight: under 20-lbs
Prerequisite: Dogs must be over 6 months old, 20lbs or less, spayed or neutered. Please contact the trainer with any questions or concerns.
This six-week course approaches the world from a miniature dog’s point of view. A course for small dogs designed to refresh social etiquette, basic manners, building confidence skills in shy dogs, and curving naughty habits such as demand barking,jumping up and housetraining. All in good fun, we will cover:

- Basic Manners: sit, down, stay, leave it and come when called
SEMINARS
1-night, 1-hour lecture, demonstration & 30-minutes of Q&A
$20/per seminar or attend all three seminars for $55/package

Introduction to Positive Dog Training Seminar
The first in a series of three lectures combined with Q&A and demonstrations, the Introduction to Positive Dog Training seminar takes us on a short trip down memory
lane, how the dog training industry has changed from dominance theory instruction to positive reward based training methods. Learn the principles of learning, how animals
learn and how to use force-free training methods to teach new behaviors. Seminar is 60 minutes of lecture and demonstration, followed by 30-minutes of audience Questions & Answers. Introduction to Positive Dog Training is for humans only.
