Class Descriptions

Puppy Class: This class is designed for young puppies between the ages of 10 weeks and 5 months. This class is structured to help socialize puppies with other puppies as well as new people. This is a very critical socialization period in your puppy's life and introductions should be pleasant. I will help owners with puppy issues such as housebreaking, mouthing, jumping up and gently touching. Your puppy will learn basic obedience behaviors such as sit, down, come, walking nicely on a leash and greeting people appropriately. Owners attend class 1 without puppies, puppies will attend classes 2 - 7.

Juvenile Class: designed for dogs 5 months and older who have not attended a puppy class. Your dog will learn sit, down, stand, leave it, come, stay, and walking on a loose leash. I will also address specific behavior problems owners might be experiencing with their "adolescent" dogs. Owners attend class 1 without their dogs, dogs will attend classes 2 - 7.

Manners Class: This 6-week class will expand on and refine all those techniques and behaviors you learned in the Puppy and Juvenile training classes as you prepare your dog for the next level of training. This will also help those that feel their dogs need a bit of a refresher. This class will review basic obedience skills with emphasis on greeting people and dogs, going to your mat and behavior in the home. This class is for dogs ages 5 1/2 months and have taken a puppy or juvenile class.

Drop-In classes:  ongoing classes, where you can pick a start date and join the class at your convenience. These are ongoing classes which will address core skills that will help your dog become a better behaved member of your family. The drop-in classes will allow each dog to work at their own pace or to review problem training areas without having to attend classes every week. This gives you the flexibility of attending the class or classes that you feel you want to work on with your dog. Each week I cover a different training behavior (see calendar for the schedule of classes). These classes are geared for any age dog, especially those dogs that are 5 months and above. Each drop-in class you attend is $20.00 (payable the night of class) or you can purchase a group of three classes for $55.00 and pick the classes you want to attend - when you want to attend as long as they are completed within a 6 month period.
