Bay Area Pet FairJoin us October 15th & 16th, 2016 for the Largest Gathering of Adoptable Animals in California History.
Thank you, Bay Area, for helping thousands of homeless California pets get forever homes!
The sixth-annual Bay Area Pet Fair was held on Saturday and Sunday, October 15 and 16, and resulted in 1,080 adoptions of dogs, cats, puppies, kittens, birds, bunnies and other small animals!
Despite rainy weather, more than 70 California pet rescues and shelters brought hundreds of adoptable pets, and there was record attendance of over 22,000 people on October 15!
A Brief History of the Bay Area Pet Fair
Pet Food Express revived the Bay Area Pet Fair in 2011 as an “opportunity to educate people about the importance of rescue and adoption, find hundreds of homeless pets forever homes and provide a fun weekend of activities for the whole family,” said Mike Murray, Director of Community Outreach, for the California pet supply stores.
To date, 4,760 pets have been adopted via the Bay Area Pet Fair over the last six years! That’s 1.1 pets adopted every minute the pet fair was open!
For each pet adopted, Pet Food Express donates $50 to the adopting organization, which now totals $238,000 given to California rescues and shelters since 2011.
Plans are already underway for the 2017 Bay Area Pet Fair.
