My Mutt Stories: Harley

Harley

Featured My Mutt... "Harley"

Harley

Harley was a rescue from Taiwan, through an offshoot of the NorCal Golden Rescue program. When he arrived he was in poor condition, as he’d been kept in a crate most of his life. He had been used as a stud for a Taiwanese puppy mill. He had trouble walking and was twenty pounds underweight. The so-called breeder had dropped off four golden retrievers at the rescue; because of his gambling debts he could not afford to feed them anymore. Harley was one of those dogs. Since he has been with us he has had a total hip replacement, gained those needed twenty pounds, and is now a healthy loving boy. He is the sweetest dog and has a very calming presence about him, with everyone he touches. Shortly after his recovery we also got him certified as a Therapy Dog and he visits a number of the local Senior homes in the area. Just recently he was chosen to be included in the Rescue Calendar for 2015. He has brought so much joy and love not just to our family, but to everyone he comes in contact with on a daily basis. He is a true blessing: our little angel.
