My Mutt Stories: Max

Max

Featured My Mutt... "Max"

Max

Max was adopted by us while I was recovering from a surgery and was in a wheelchair.  While Max's history was not known, his future was.  He was on a path to become a self-trained service dog.  With very little training from us and Max being an empathetic dog, he has become a main helper around the house and an enormous presence in our family.  He picks up things I drop and carries them, he gets my cell phone when I ask, he brings me his food dish when its dinner time and he gets his leash when it's time for a walk.  Aside from all the utilitarian roles Max plays, his huge heart and his unwavering loyalty and love have convinced friends to adopt dogs of their own.  Maxie is a wonderful ambassador for adoption.
