Lea Orloski - SIRIUS Puppy & Dog Training

Phone: (800) 419-8748

SIRIUS® is the original puppy school. Dr. Ian Dunbar created and taught the world's very first puppy class in the San Francisco Bay Area over 30 years ago. SIRIUS Puppy Training Classes literally redefined and revolutionized pet dog training. In fact, SIRIUS created the field of pet dog training.

Meet The Trainer: Lea Orloski has a deep love for dogs and discovered she had a natural talent with dogs while she was growing up. In 2006, she started working as a dog handler at a local dog daycare. In 2009, she began observing/assisting as a dog trainer and started to help with dog training clasees. In 2013, she attained her certificate in Training & Behvaior from the Janis Bradley Dog Training Internship, a 6-month course that focused on positive reinforcement dog training and professional client consultation.

Lea's passion for dog training can be seen throught her work. She loves teaching students "how to speak dog" and how to better connect with their canine compantions. When not hiking with dogs or teaching classes, Lea is always continuing her dog education through seminars, webinars and book.

Lea is a professional member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) and a member of the Pet Professional Guide (PPG).  Lea is also a Canine Good Citizen (CGC) evaluator and does regular CGC testing at the SF SPCA.

PUPPY TRAINING 1 - Saturday 9:30am
For puppies 10-18 weeks old.
$200 for 5 weekly 50 minute sessions.

Puppy I is so much fun and hugely educational! Classes focus on puppy biting, socialization with other dogs and people (especially children men and strangers), calming and handling, attention, basic obedience skills (come, sit, down, stand, stay, heel and walk on leash) and household manners (crate training, toilet training and chew toy training).

Our expert instructors will teach you how to use food in training without it becoming a bribe so that your puppy responds reliably whether you have food or not. Learn how to improve your puppy's focus, speed of recall and length of stays off-leash, at a distance and when distracted.

Learn how to introduce your puppy to people, places, dogs and new situations so that they thoroughly enjoy the company of all kinds of folks, especially children, men and strangers.

Learn how to teach your puppy to play Fetch and Tug and to use these games as rewards in training.

Vaccine: First two rounds of DHLPP or DHPP. The second round must have been administered after 8 weeks of age, but at least 7 days prior to the first session of class. Please note: some locations may have the additional vaccine requirement for Bordetella. We strongly recommend this additional vaccine if your class is held in any canine facility.

Age: 10-18 weeks of age at the start date of class. If your puppy is older than 18 weeks, Dog Training I is the appropriate class.

Length: This class is $200 for five consecutive weekly sessions, unless a break is mentioned. Each session is approximately 50 minutes and will meet on the same day and time each week.

DOG TRAINING 1 - Saturday 10:30am
For puppies older than 18 weeks.
Pups must have their rabies vaccination.
$200 for 5 weekly 50 minute sessions.

Dog Training I is the perfect obedience course for dogs that have never taken a class before or for dogs needing to brush up on rusty obedience skills. We use innovative and unique training methods that are specifically designed for adolescent and adult dogs which may be inattentive or ill-mannered.

Our absolutely unique and innovative all-or-none reward training techniques make training adolescent and adult dogs a peaceful and enjoyable experience. Initial exercises focus on calming, settling-down and regaining attention to facilitate teaching basic manners - sit, down, stand, stay, walking on-leash and polite greetings.

This class is taught on-leash.

Temperment: Dogs must be friendly with other dogs and people.
Age: Dogs who are older than 19 weeks.
Vaccine: Rabies vaccine or up-to-date vaccination is required. Please note: some locations may have the additional vaccine requirement for Bordetella. We strongly recommend this additional vaccine if your class is held in any canine facility.
